Chekkalu Recipe | Pappu Chekkalu Recipe | Andhra Style Thattai Recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Pappu Chekkalu is andhra style thattai made using rice flour. It is crunchy, crispy and delicious snacks made during festivals/occasions. It is perfect evening snacks for kids. Since we use ready made rice flour, it is so simple and easy to make in home. You can make these in less than 45 minutes.
Usually we use gram dal flour while making thattai. In Andhra they use only rice flour to make crispy thattai. I have used chana dal. You can use moong dal or peanuts. I made this for krishna Jayanthi and it got over so soon. Recipe is adapted from here. This is last week of mega blogging Marathon where all of us are going to post the same snacks from different states each day. Starting with this easy and simple snack from Andhra.
