Aloo Paratha Recipe | Punjabi Aloo Paratha | Stuffed Aloo Paratha recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Aloo Paratha is whole wheat flat bread stuffed with spicy potatoes. One of the most popular flat bread in Punjab. Simple serve it with butter, yogurt and pickle. You can serve this for any meal of the day. I love to add chaat masala or amchur powder in stuffing to add that tangy taste.
Though I make paratha with different stuffing like onion paratha, horse gram paratha, Mooli Paratha, Lachha Paratha, Gobi Paratha, Aloo paratha is most commonly made and liked by everyone in home. You can make it for lunch box as they stay soft for long time. Next in my flat bread series is Aloo paratha with dal, spiced yogurt, butter, onions and green chilli.

How to make Aloo Paratha with step by step pictures
Take wheat flour in bowl, add salt and oil.
Mix it nicely with hands
Then add water little by little and knead to form dough.
Add little oil now and knead for 7-10 minutes till dough is soft and smooth.
Cover and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
Wash and take potatoes in pressure cooker. Pressure cook them for 3-4 whistles.
Once it cools down, peel the potatoes. Mash them finely with any lumps.
Add red chilli powder, green chilli, garam masala, cumin powder, chaat masala and salt to mashed potatoes.
Mix them together and potato stuffing is ready.
Take small balls, roll them as small circle.
Place the stuffing in the middle.
Bring all the edges and seal them
Now roll them like chapati sprinkling little flour.
Heat kadai and place the rolled paratha. Drizzle oil on the top. Flip them and cook on both sides till golden. Repeat the same for rest of the dough.
Finally serve them hot with raita, curd, pickle or any gravy
