Baked Penne Pasta with Beetroot Sauce
Baked Penne Pasta with Beetroot Sauce recipe with step by step instructions. Learn how to make baked whole wheat penne pasta with beetroot sauce. I always love noodles and pasta and try different things with them. I made this for Facebook contest along with crackers, croissants and beetroot Swirl buns. Inspired by white sauce pasta I made this beetroot sauce pasta and it tasted so yummy. Everyone in home liked and enjoyed it.
We can indirectly make kids eat beetroot and it will be difficult for them to find out. I baked these in oven arranging them in layers. You can cook the same in pan by adding cooked pasta to Vegetables and then add beetroot sauce. Finally garnish with cheese or you can skip that.

How to make Baked Penne pasta with beetroot sauce with pictures
Boil water and add pasta, oil, salt and cook for 10-12 minutes. Drain the water and keep it ready
Pressure cook beetroot for 3 whistles. Grind them in mixie to prepare beetroot puree. Heat butter in a pan. Add beetroot puree and milk and saute nicely. Now add cheese and mix till mixture thickens. Add salt, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1 tsp pepper powder, 1 TSP red chilli flakes and mix. Beetroot Sauce is ready
Heat oil and add cabbage, mushroom and saute nicely till it soften. Now add eggs and scramble them. Add all the spice powders and mix till everything is combined. Cook for few minutes till it is crunchy.
In a baking pan grease with butter. Add vegetable masala as bottom layer
On top of it add cooked pasta
Then add beetroot sauce
Repeat the same layers till everything is finished.
Top it with grated cheese and season it with chilli flakes, Italian seasoning and pepper powder.
Preheat the oven to 225°C for ten minutes. Bake in same temperature for 12-15 minutes till top layer is browned.
Serve beetroot sauce paste hot.
