Bitter gourd is one of the vegetables where most people hate to eat it. But I love to eat this pavakkai masala which my mom makes and it won’t have the bitter taste. It has lot of health benefits and good for diabetics and helps in weight loss. We love to eat as side dish with sambar.
Addition of lot of onions, tamarind and jaggery makes this dish so tasty and you won’t get the bitter taste. Scrape the outer green edges, cut and mix it with salt and leave aside for sometime to remove the bitter taste. Also allow it to saute nicely for longer time.
