Coconut roti Recipe | Srilankan Pol Roti recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Coconut Roti is one of the famous flatbread from Srilanka made with maida and grated coconut. It is called as Pol Roti. Pol means coconut in Sinhalese. There are lot of similarities between Kerala and Srilanka in terms of food. They also use coconut widely in cooking. Appam, idiyappam and Coconut roti are most commonly made tiffin items.
We always make it plain. Some people will add some onions and spices and make them too. This is my husband's favorite breakfast or dinner. But I try to avoid making it since it is maida or sometimes use wheat flour to make them. Presenting you my Srilankan Breakfast platter of Pol Roti, Fish curry and coconut sambol. With this week 1 of blogging marathon comes to an end. Look forward to some interesting lunch thali next week.
