Falafel Recipe | How to make Falafel recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Falafel is crispy and crunchy deep fried snack made using chickpeas and spices. It is crispy outer and soft inside. It is very popular snack from Middle eastern region. Serve it with tahini sauce or hummus. This is perfect evening snacks or can be packed in snacks box for kids. It is usually served with pita bread or used as stuffing in wraps with sauces and vegetables.
You can always bake them instead of deep frying and enjoy them guilt free. Falafel Recipe | How to make Falafel
Ingredients
- Chickpeas 1 cup
- Onion 1 small
- Garlic 3-4 cloves
- Jeera 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder 1/2 tsp
- salt as required
- Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Soak chickpeas in water for 8 hours or overnight.
- Drain the water and take them in mixer
- Add onions, salt, chopped garlic, jeera, red chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder and coriander leaves to it.
- Grind them to coarse paste.
- Transfer them to the bowl and check the seasoning and add if required.
- Make them as small bowls or shape them as you prefer.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them till golden.
- Drain them in kitchen tissue.
- Serve falafel hot with tahini sauce or hummus.
