Lachha Paratha Recipe | How to make Lachha Paratha
Lachha Paratha Recipe | How to make Lachha Paratha recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Lachha Paratha is flaky layered flat bread made with whole wheat flour. It is so famous in North India and quite similar to South Indian Parotta but more healthy. Serve it with simple raita or any exotic gravy of your choice. I served with Kadai vegetable. My husband loves Parotta a lot and to make it healthy I make it with wheat flour. You can use combination of all purpose flour and wheat too.
I tried to use minimum oil and still it was so soft and flaky with layers. It doesn’t take much time to prepare too. Monday again and theme for this week in Foodie Monday Bloghop group is #241FlatBreadFiesta suggested by Poonam who blogs at Annapurna. She is so friendly and versatile blogger. Check out the Pudina Lachha Paratha she prepared for the theme and also her wide collection of recipes from her blog.

Take wheat flour, salt and sugar in a bowl.
Add oil to it and mix it with your finger tips
Then add water slowly and knead to smooth dough
Stretch and knead nicely for 8-10 minutes till the dough is soft and pliable. Apply little oil on top and keep it covered for 15 mins to half an hour.
Then knead for two minutes and make small balls and flatten them.
Roll into big circle and brush it with oil on top and sprinkle some flour.
Then start making pleats. Make small pleats as possible to get many layers.
Once you make pleats pull and roll into circle.
Keep it aside and repeat the same for rest of the dough.
Take each rolled dough and dust it with little flour or oil if required. Roll them gently to medium thickness.
Heat tawa and once it is hot transfer the rolled paratha.
Flip the paratha, apply some oil/ghee and cook till it is golden and all layers are cooked.
Lachha paratha is ready. Serve it with any gravy of your choice.
