Madurai Kari Dosa | Chicken Kari Dosa recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Kari dosa is very famous in Madurai which is usually made with mutton. I watched this recipe from a TV show where they thought how to prepare from one famous Madurai restaurant. I tried with chicken and it came out so good. Now I used to make this regularly. It requires Dosa batter and chicken sukka. You can use leftover chicken sukka/gravy to prepare this dish too.

It has very nice flavor and taste. It can be eaten as such and no side dishes required. One Kari Dosa will be heavy and enough as it is packed with lot of chicken. Ingredients

    Chicken Sukka/Keema
  • Chicken 150 gms
  • Green chillies 2 finely chopped
  • Onions 1 finely chopped
  • Tomato 1 finely chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Red chilli 1 tsp
  • Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves to garnish
  • Preparing Dosa
  • Dosa Batter 1 1/2 cup
  • Eggs 2
  • Onions 1/2 cup finely chopped
  • Green chillies 1 finely chopped
  • Salt as required
  • Pepper Powder 1/2 tsp

Instructions

    Chicken Sukka/Keema
  1. Finely chop the chicken. you can use chicken keema also. Finely chop the onions, tomatoes, green chillies ans keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai and add the finely chopped onions and green chillies. Saute nicely for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Now add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes.
  4. Then add tomatoes and saute till it is mushy.
  5. Then add the chicken and mix nicely.
  6. Now add salt and all spice powders except pepper powder and add little water and mix nicely.
  7. Once the chicken is cooked, add the pepper powder.
  8. Mix nicely and garnish with Coriander leaves
  9. Chicken masala is ready.
  10. Preparing Dosa
  11. Crack one egg and add pepper and salt.
  12. To this mixture add finely chopped onions and green chillies.
  13. Mix half of chicken mixture to this and make it ready.
  14. Method 1
  15. Heat kadai and spread the dosa batter like uttapam.
  16. Spread the egg and chicken mixture to the dosa and drizzle some oil.
  17. Cook in medium flame for one minute and flip the dosa
  18. Press the dosa with laddle and cook for 30 secs and remove the dosa.
  19. Serve hot Kari Dosa.
  20. Method 2
  21. To the egg chicken mixture mix the dosa batter.
  22. Heat kadai and spread the dosa batter like uttapam and drizzle some oil.
  23. Cook in medium flame for one minute and flip the dosa.
  24. Press the dosa with laddle and cook for 30 secs and remove the dosa.
  25. Serve hot Kari Dosa.

Notes

You can use mutton to prepare this dosa. In that case, pressure cook the mutton for 3-4 whistles. You can use leftover chicken sukka or gravy for this prepartion also. When you have the chicken ready, this can be prepared in less than 15 minutes.

How to make Chicken Kari Dosa with step by step pictures

Chicken Sukka/Keema

Once the chicken is cooked, add the pepper powder.

Mix nicely and garnish with Coriander leaves

Preparing Dosa

Crack one egg and add pepper and salt.
