What is Popsicle?
Popsicles are frozen treat in a stick. It can be made in different flavors. It is so simple and easy to make in home with few ingredients. Homemade popsicles are healthier than store bought ones with artificial flavors.
Popsicles are best way to make fussy kids eat fruits. You can engage your kids to make these yummy popsicles and they will enjoy.
Mango Popsicle
Mango popsicles are best to make during mango season. Fresh mangoes taste great than the canned ones. Depending on the sweetness of the mango you can skip sugar as well. It takes only 10 minutes to make this yummy popsicle.
Some of my favorite recipes using raw mango are instant pickle, Mango thokku and Manga Sambar. You can also make Mango Mastani, Mango kulfi, Mango milkshake with ripe mangoes.

Challenge for this month in FB group is Mango recipes suggested by Anu Kollan. She made the delicious mango lassi. I was paired with Priya made my favorite raw mango sambar using secret ingredients capsicum and salt. I made this delicious mango pops.
Ingredients
- Mango - key ingredient and you can use any type of mangoes.
- Sugar - Adjust the sugar according to the sweetness of the mangoes.
- Water - Add water to blend the mangoes and adjust the consistency.

Instructions
Wash, peel, chop the mangoes and take them in a mixer.
Add sugar to it.
Blend it nicely adding little water.
Pour them into popsicle mould or tumbler.
Freeze them for 6-8 hours or overnight till it is set. Run them through water and remove the popsicle.
Enjoy the yummy mango popsicle.
Substitutions
- Mango - You can substitute mango with watermelon, strawberry, kiwi, muskmelon or any other fruits.
- Sugar- Substitute it with maple syrup, honey, jaggery or brown sugar. You can completely skip it as well.
Variations
- Lime Juice - You can add little lime juice to make it more delicious.
- Milk - You can add milk instead of water to make it creamy.
- You can use mix of fruits instead of using only mangoes.
- You can add some nuts like almons, pistachios or cashews finely chopped.
Top tip
- Adjust the sugar according to the sweetness of the mangoes.
- Skip the sugar and add honey, maple syrup or brown sugar.
- Run the popsicle through warm water to unmould it easily.
- if you don't have popsicle mould, use normal stainless-steel tumbler and insert ice-cream sticks.

- Mango 1 medium or 1 heaped cup
- Sugar 2-3 tbsp
- Water ¾ cup
