Nachos Recipe | Homemade Nachos chips | Mexican chips recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Nachos chips is crispy deep fried chips made with maize flour and spices. It is also called as Mexican chips or tortilla chips. Nachos is so addictive that you can have them on its own or serve it with cheesy dip, tomato salsa or guacamole.
It makes a perfect jar snack and you can store in airtight container for 2-3 weeks. I adapted the recipe from tarladalal and replaced maida with wheat flour. For the healthier version you can bake in oven instead of deep frying. Usually it is topped with cream, salsa or with different veggies, meat, cheese and baked. This can be consumed as complete meal too.
SHHH COOKING SECRETLY CHALLENGE
Challenge for this month in Shhh Secretly cooking challenge FB group is Mexican Cuisine suggested by me. Mexican cuisine is something I love to experiment and love quesadillas, tortilla wraps with beans, tacos and Guacamole. I planned to do Mexican platter for my thalis and platters. But due to time constraints and other personal issues could not do Mexican platter. I have a Mexican colleague in office and we used to discuss a lot about food and I used to get lot of recipes from him. Most of the ingredients we use in Mexican cuisine is easily available in India.
My partner for this month is Rafeeda who blogs at thebigsweettooth. We have interacted only few times before but still feel like she is very good friend. Her blog contains lot of Malabar as well as middle eastern recipes. Checkout Chicken corn quesadillas , corn avocado salsa and many other interesting recipes from her blog. I gave her corn and garlic and she made the delicious Mexican Pozole. She gave me oregano and ajwain as secret ingredients and I made nachos chips.

How to make Nachos Chips with step by step pictures
Take wheat flour and maize flour in a bowl
Add oregano, salt, ajwain to it
Add oil and rub it nicely.
Then add water and knead
Knead to smooth dough.
Dust with flour and roll the dough as circle. Prick it with fork. Cut them as triangle shapes.
Heat oil and deep fry them till done. Nachos chips is ready. Serve it with cheesy dip, tomato salsa and guacamole.
