Nellikai Rasam Recipe | Gooseberry Rasam | Amla Rasam recipe

Nellikai Rasam Recipe | Gooseberry Rasam | Amla Rasam recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Nellikai Rasam is variation of south Indian Rasam made with Nellikai/Gooseberry/Amla. It is tangy in nature so can be substituted for tamarind in rasam. It has lot of health benefits and very rich in vitamin C. Gooseberry builds immunity, burns fat and very good for hairfall.
Tomato and amla is ground to fine paste and used in making rasam. I generally don’t add dal while making amla Rasam. You can use dal water to cook too. Rasam is almost made daily in our home as my kids are fond of it. So I always make some variations and make herbal rasam, kollu rasam, tomato rasam, pineapple rasam, lemon rasam etc. Presenting you my thali of Keerai Kootu, Baked Broccoli and omelette along with amla rasam.

It can be enjoyed as soup or with hot rice.
