One Pot Tiffin Sambar | Moong Dal Sambar | Pasi paruppu sambar recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Learn how to make one pot pasi paruppu sambar. This is one pot curry which can be made easily in pressure cooker. One pot tiffin Sambar is simple and quick sambar. This recipe is very easy for bachelors and can be prepared under 30 minutes. Just you need a handful of ingredients which is easily available in kitchen to prepare this sambar. we usually use Moong dal / Pasi paruppu to make this sambar.
We don't use tamarind for this sambar. This sambar goes well with idly, dosa, chapathi, roti and pongal. There are lot of variations we can make to this sambar. This is very simple and easy version for beginners. I prepare this recipe in my pressure cooker. You can cook the dal separately and then prepare in Kadai.

One Pot Tiffin Sambar | Breakfast Sambar | Pasi paruppu sambar
Ingredients
- Pasi paruppu/Moong Dal 1/3 cup
- Water 2 1/2 cup
- Green chillies 2
- Onion 1
- Tomatoes 2
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
- Salt 3/4 tsp or as required
- Coriander leaves to garnish
To temper
- Oil 2 tsp
- Mustard 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli 1
- Curry leaves few
Instructions
- Take dal, wash and keep it ready
- Chop onions, green chillies and tomatoes and keep it ready.
- Heat oil and temper with ingredients given under to temper.
- Add onions and green chillies and saute nicely
- Then add tomatoes and saute till mushy.
- Now add salt, turmeric and asafoetida and mix
- Then add dal and saute
- Finally add water and close the cooker.
- Cook for one whistle and slow flame for 5 minutes.
- Open the cooker after pressure releases and garnish with coriander leaves
- Serve the sambar

How to make pasi paruppu sambar with step by step pictures
