    Onion Pakoda | Onion Pakora | How to make Onion Pakoda with step by step pictures. Onion Pakoda is crispy tea time snack made with onions. It is very easy and simple to make within 15 minutes.

    It is very easy to prepare with available ingredients in home. Onions are coated with flour mix and deep fried till crisp. Here we should be use only less amount of flour to just coat the onions. If we use more flour it will become like bajji. We always carve for something hot when it's rains with hot coffee. Onion pakoda is best snack for rainy evening.

    Onion Pakoda | Onion Pakora | How to make Onion Pakoda

    Onion Pakoda is crispy tea time snack made with onions. It is very easy and simple to make within 15 minutes.

    Ingredients

    • 2 big onions
    • 3 green chillies
    • 1 tsp crushed or chopped ginger
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • ½ tsp asafoetida
    • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 cup besan flour
    • ½ cup rice flour
    • Oil for deep frying

    Instructions

    • Take two big onions. If you are using medium size can take 4 onions
    • Cut the onions lengthwise
    • Split the onions nicely and transfer to the bowl
    • Add finely chopped green chillies, ginger, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and asafoetida
    • Mix all the powders nicely with onions
    • Add besan flour, rice flour and mix nicely. No need to add water as onions will release water
    • Heat oil for frying
    • Sprinkle little water and drop the batter in hot oil
    • Cook in medium flame till it is crisp

    Notes

    Don't add more water because onions will release water. If you are going to prepare after sometime no need to add any water as onions will release the necessary water.

    How to make Onion pakoda with step by step pictures

    Take two big onions. If you are using medium size can take 4 onions. Cut the onions lengthwise. Split the onions nicely and transfer to the bowl

    Add finely chopped green chillies, ginger, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and asafoetida

    Mix all the powders nicely with onions

    Add besan flour, rice flour and mix nicely. No need to add water as onions will release water

    Heat oil for frying

    Sprinkle little water and drop the batter in hot oil

    Cook in medium flame till it is crisp

    Serve with hot coffee
