Osmania biscuits Recipe | Hyderabad Special Osmania biscuits recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Osmania biscuits is one of the popular tea time snack in Hyderabad. According to wiki it is named after the last Asaf Jahi ruler of Hyderabad State, Mir Osman Ali Khan. The biscuits were first baked on the demand of the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan, who wanted a snack that was a little sweet and a little salty. These are soft, crunchy and melt in mouth cookies.
I have tasted these cookies from Hyderabad from one of my office friends. We also get these cookies in chennai. Once when I got these cookies I was looking at the ingredients list in the cover and tried it. I referred many recipes and came up with my own version using wheat flour and brown sugar. It is variation of butter biscuits with milk powder and corn flour. Perfect for evening snacks with hot cup of Tea/Coffee.
