Prawn fried rice | Spicy Prawn fried rice with step by step instructions. It is simply prawn combined with rice, egg, veggies and sauces. I always like Chinese dishes be it Manchurian, fried rice or noodles.

When I was browsing through Pinterest saw the picture of prawn fried rice which drooled me to try this immediately as I like prawns very much. I followed my usual way of making fried rice and added prawns to it. You can skip the sauces too if you don’t have. I like to marinate and shallow fry the prawns before adding to fried rice. You can add it as such along with veggies too . You can use leftover rice for fried rice. If you have rice ready you can easily make this in less than 20 minutes. You can also try Pepper Chicken along with fried rice

Ingredients

    Cooking Rice
  • Rice 1 cup
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • For prawns
  • Prawns 100 gms
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Preparing fried rice
  • Garlic 6 finely chopped
  • Onions 1 finely chopped
  • Capsicum 1/2 finely chopped
  • Spring onions 1/2 cup
  • Egg 1
  • Soya sauce 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1/2 tsp
  • Vinegar 1/2 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder 2 tsp

Instructions

    Cooking rice
  1. Boil water in pan. Once it boils add the washed basmati rice, oil and salt.
  2. Allow it to cook for 7-8 minutes till rice is 80% cooked.
  3. Drain the water, puff it with fork and keep it aside
  4. Allow the rice to cool down completely.
  5. Preparing prawns
  6. Marinate the prawns with items given under marinate.
  7. Heal oil in pan and shallow fry the prawns for 2-3 minutes and keep it aside
  8. Preparing fried rice
  9. In the same oil add finely chopped garlic and saute for few secs
  10. Add the onions and saute nicely.
  11. Then add capsicum, spring onions and saute in high flame.
  12. Move the mixture to one side of pan and crack the eggs.
  13. Scramble the eggs and add salt, soya sauce, vinegar, sugar and pepper powder and mix.
  14. Now add the cooked rice and prawns and saute in high flame till everything is mixed nicely.
  15. Serve the rice hot with manchurian or tomato sauce

Notes

Adjust the salt and pepper according to your taste. Can directly add the prawns along with vegetables too. You can skip the eggs and add more prawns in the rice
