Raw Jackfruit Masala | Kathal Masala recipe with step-by-step pictures and instructions. Raw jackfruit masala is a delicious curry prepared with tender jackfruit pieces, onion, tomato and spices.

It is a dry masala recipe which goes well with roti or as side dish to rice. It is good alternative to meat and give amazing flavors. Raw jackfruit is diabetic friendly and helps to reduce cholesterol.

We rarely get raw jackfruit from local vendors. So, whenever I get a chance, I will pick it up. This month I was paired with Preethi who made the delicious Poha patties for "Cook what you like" theme in our bloggers group.

Though I don't usually get tender jackfruit easily, it is a recipe I will love to try. Do you think I can use canned jackfruit to make this?

I am always doubtful about working with raw jackfruit. I love to enjoy ripe jackfruit .. your recipe has given me the confidence to work with kathal . The spices and seasoning you have used to make the curry is outstanding
