Schezwan Sauce | How to make Schezwan Sauce in home with step by step pictures and instructions. Learn how to make hot and spicy schezwan sauce in home. Schezwan sauce is spicy sauce from Indo Chinese cuisine which is used for making fried rice, noodles and even can be used as dip for snacks. It can also be used for preparing any spicy side dishes. I always like schezwan fried rice or noodles than normal ones.

It can also be used for bread toasts or preparing dosa. I prepared schezwan chicken with this sauce and everyone liked it a lot. You can try potatoes or any vegetables too. It can be used for tossing chicken lollipops too. You can adjust the amount of red chillies and sauce according to your preference. You can store in air tight container and it keeps well for one month. I usually won’t store more than two weeks. There are lot of ways we can use and finish this yummy and delicious sauce.

Schezwan sauce is spicy sauce from  Indo chinese cuisine which is used for making fried rice, noodles and even can be used as dip for snacks.

Ingredients

  • Red chilli 18-20
  • Garlic 8 big cloves finely chopped
  • Ginger small piece finely chopped
  • Sesame Oil 3 tbsp
  • Soya sauce 2 tbsp
  • Vineger 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Tomato sauce 2 tbsp
  • Salt as required
  • Water 1/2 cup or as required

Instructions

  1. Soak red chillies in hot water for 30 minutes.
  2. Grind the chillies along with half of garlic in mixer.
  3. Blend to smooth paste.
  4. Heat oil and add finely chopped ginger and garlic.
  5. Once the browns add the red chilli paste and saute for 1 minute.
  6. Then add 1/2 cup water and allow it to boil till oil oozes out.
  7. Now add soya sauce, vineger, tomato sauce, and salt
  8. Mix nicely and saute or few seconds.
  9. Add pepper powder and mix.
  10. Switch off the flame
  11. Hot Schezwan sauce is ready

Notes

Adjust the red chilli and sauces according to your choice

Store in clean air tight container. Always use clean spoon without water for long shelf life
