Broken wheat pongal is one pot dish which is healthy, nutritious and filling. Method of preparation is similar to Ven/Khara pongal made with rice. Drizzle ghee and enjoy them hot with sambar, gotsu or chutney. Broken wheat is high in fiber and very good for people with diabetes. How to make Broken Wheat Pongal with step by step pictures
Heat ghee in pressure cooker and add cumin, pepper, ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, hing and cashews if using
once it browns add water and allow it to boil
Now add turmeric powder and salt.
Once it boils add washed moong dal and dhaliya.
Close the lid and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles. Once the pressure releases open the lid and mix it.
