White Sauce Recipe | Béchamel Sauce | White sauce without Maida recipe with step-by-step pictures and instructions. White Sauce is a thick creamy sauce made with a combination of butter, flour, and milk. It is also called Béchamel sauce. Use as a base in many kinds of pasta, baked dishes, lasagna, sandwiches, etc.
An equal quantity of flour and butter are mixed to form a thick roux and then milk is added to adjust the consistency. Season with flavorings of your choice. I always use wheat flour instead of maida for the white sauce and it comes out so good without compromise in taste. My kids love this white sauce and finish so quickly.
