Traditionally method of making bhatura involves fermenting the dough for long time. This is instant method using baking powder and baking soda. Dough should be rested for 1-2 hours. Usually they use all purpose flour to make bhatura but I have used wheat flour. Prepare this for party or weekend brunch.

  • We love chole bhature and make it for special occassions...your whole wheat bhaturas have so nicely puffed up.. liked the use of whole wheat flour instead of maida, more health friendly choice especially for kids.
  • Whole wheat bhaturas are a good option to avoid maida . I do make kulchas with wheat but never thought of making bhaturas .thanks for the idea and recipe Narmadha . The chole looks lovely !!
  • We love chole bhature but I make it occasionally as bhature are made with maida. Your whole wheat bhature sounds a healthy alternative to the ones made with refined flour. I would love giving it a try
