Lactation Cookies Recipe | Healthy Lactation Cookies

Lactation cookies are healthy and nutritious cookies made with ingredients which will help to boost milk supply in breastfeeding mothers.

Ingredients

  • Oats 1 cup
  • Almonds ½ cup
  • Powdered jaggery/brown sugar ½ cup
  • Fennel seeds ½ tbsp
  • Ghee/butter ¼ cup

Instructions

  • Dry roast oats in low flame till fragrant and crispy.
  • Allow it to cool down and transfer to mixer.
  • Grind to coarse powder and take in a bowl.
  • Add chopped almonds to it.
  • Then add fennel seeds and flax seeds.
  • Next add powdered jaggery/brown sugar and mix it nicely till everything is combined.
  • Finally add ghee to bind together the dough.
  • Don't knead much just bring it together.
  • Make small balls and flatten them in your hands.
  • Line baking tray with parchment paper and arrange the cookies.
  • Preheat the oven 180°C for ten minutes and bake in same temperature for 18-20 minutes.
  • Allow it to cool down and store in air tight container.
  • Enjoy the lactation cookies.

Notes

You can use any type of oats.
Refrigerate the dough for sometime and then roll the dough and cut using cookie cutters.
Baking time will differ depending on oven as well as thickness of cookies. So always keep an eye after 15 minutes
Cookies always looks soft while taking out and later becomes firm. Bake them little longer if you like it to be crispy.
I have tried with both jaggery and powdered brown sugar in the recipe. Both works good. Use palm jaggery if you are giving to lactating moms.
