Millet Pulao Recipe | Little Millet Pulao | Samai Pulao Recipe

Millet Pulao is healthy and nutritious pulao made with little millet/samai.

Ingredients

  • Little Millet/Samai ½ cup
  • Water 1 ¼ cup
  • oil 2 tsp
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Cloves 1
  • Cinnamon small stick
  • Onions 1 medium
  • Green chilli 2
  • Ginger garlic paste 1.5 tsp
  • Mixed veggies ¾ cup
  • Garam masala ½ tsp
  • Salt as required

Instructions

  • Wash and soak the little millet for 30 minutes. Drain water and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil and temper with bay leaf, cloves and cinnamon
  • Then add finely chopped onions and slit green chillies. Saute till slightly golden.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes.
  • Next add the chopped vegetables and saute for a minute.
  • Then add salt and garam masala.
  • Sprinkle little water and cook till vegetables are 60% cooked.
  • Then add water and allow it to boil.
  • Once it boils add the washed millet.
  • Boil in medium flame for 5 minutes.
  • Close the lid and cook for 10 minutes in low flame.
  • Gently fluff up the pulao and serve hot.
  • Healthy little millet pulao is ready.

Notes

You can use any type of millets and make pulao
I used carrot and potato. You can use any type of vegetables
