Jeera Rice

Jeera rice is a quick and easy one pot meal made with basmati rice, ghee and cumin seeds

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati rice
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 2 Bay leaves 2 small
  • 2 Cardamom 2
  • Cloves 2
  • Cinnamon 2 small sticks
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Water 1.5 cups

Instructions

  • Wash and soak basmati rice for 20 minutes
  • Drain water and keep it ready.
  • Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and temper with jeera, bay leaf, cinnamom, cardamom, and cloves.
  • Then add the washed rice and saute for 1-2 minutes.
  • Next, add water and salt to it.
  • Close the lid and pressure cook for 1 whistle on medium flame and 5 minutes on low flame
  • Release the pressure and gently mix the rice
  • Flavorful jeera rice is ready.
