Akki Roti Recipe | Rice Flour Roti | How to make Akki Roti Recipe

Akki roti is one of the popular breakfast recipes in Karnataka made using rice flour.

Ingredients

  • Rice flour 1 cup
  • Onion 1 small
  • Carrot ½ cup grated
  • Green chillies 2 finely chopped
  • Ginger 1 tsp grated
  • Coriander leaves 2-3 tbsp finely chopped
  • Cumin ½ tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Water ½ cup + 1 tbsp

Instructions

  • Finely chop onions, coriander leaves and green chillies. Grate carrots and ginger and keep it ready.
  • Take rice flour in a bowl
  • Add onions, green chillies, ginger, carrot and coriander leaves.
  • Then add cumin and salt.
  • Mix everything together.
  • Then add water and mix it to form dough.
  • Add little oil and form round balls.
  • Flatten each ball in parchment paper.
  • Grease your hands with oil or water and press them to form roti.
  • Carefully transfer it to kadai.
  • Drizzle little oil and cook till it is crisp and golden.
  • Serve it with coconut chutney or Sambar.

Notes

You can use other veggies like capsicum, bottle gourd, dill leaves, cabbage etc.
You can use banana leaves or cloth to roll them
You can grated coconut to the dough.
