Akki Roti Recipe | Rice Flour Roti | How to make Akki Roti Recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Akki roti is one of the popular breakfast recipes in Karnataka made using rice flour. Rice flour is mixed with onions, vegetables and spices. We can make it plain also. I like to add vegetables to make it more nutritious. This is quick and easy breakfast recipe which can be prepared in less than 30 minutes. I used my idiyappam flour to make these crispy and delicious roti.
I added only carrot but you can add other vegetables like cabbage, capsicum, beetroot, bottle gourd or according to your preference. Some people add coconut, dill leaves to roti. Initially I thought it will be difficult to roll roti and kept away from trying it. But it was easy to roll the roti using parchment paper. Traditionally they use banana leaf or cloth to roll. Grease your hands with oil or water while rolling. Serve it with chutney or sambar. Actually I liked to have it as such without any side dishes.

How to make Akki Roti with step by step pictures
Finely chop onions, coriander leaves and green chillies. Grate carrots and ginger and keep it ready.
Take rice flour in a bowl
Add onions, green chillies, ginger, carrot and coriander leaves. Then add cumin and salt.
Mix everything together.
Then add water and mix it to form dough.
Add little oil and form round balls. Flatten each ball in parchment paper.
Grease your hands with oil or water and press them to form roti.
Carefully transfer it to kadai.
Drizzle little oil and cook till it is crisp and golden.
Serve it with coconut chutney or Sambar.
