Broccoli Masala | Broccoli Gravy recipe

Learn how to make simple broccoli gravy for chapati, roti or side dish for rice.

Ingredients

  • Broccoli 1 medium 300 grams
  • Onion 3 finely chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala ¾ tsp
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  • Curd 2 tbsp
  • Milk ¼ cup
  • Kasturi methi 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves to garnish
  • To Temper
  • Bay leaf 1
  • cloves 1
  • Cardamom 1
  • cinnamon small stick
  • Oil 2 tsp

Instructions

  • Cut and wash the broccoli and keep it ready.
  • Heat oil in a pan and temper with ingredients under temper.
  • Add finely chopped onions and saute for 1-2 minutes.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes.
  • Add broccoli and saute nicely for 2 minutes till it slightly shrinks.
  • Now add salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala.
  • Add little water and allow the broccoli to cook.
  • Once broccoli is cooked, add curd.
  • Add milk and allow it to boil for 2 minutes.
  • Then add kasturi methi and mix.
  • Switch off the stove and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve with rice/roti

Notes

Adjust the water consistency as per your wish.
I allowed the broccoli to cook for little longer. If you want crunchier keep an eye and switch off accordingly. It will take between 5-10 minutes to cook.
you can add cashew paste/cream to give richness to gravy.
