Butter Murukku Recipe | How to make Butter Murukku Recipe

Butter Murukku is one of the favorite murukku with its so crunchy and crispy texture.

Ingredients

  • Rice flour 1 cup
  • Besan flour/Kadalai maavu 2 tbsp
  • Pottukadalai maavu/Roasted gram flour 2 tbsp
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Cumin/sesame seeda 1 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Hing 2 pinches
  • Oil for frying
  • Water as required

Instructions

  • Take roasted gram in a mixer.
  • Grind it to fine powder.
  • Sieve and use it as required for murukku.
  • Take rice flour, besan, roasted gram flour, butter, salt, cumin seeds and hing in a bowl.
  • Mix butter with flour and combine together.
  • Now add water little by little and knead to form dough.
  • Heat oil in a kadai
  • Grease murukku press and load with dough.
  • I used star nozzle to make murukku.
  • Once oil is hot, press the murukku directly in oil. Don't overcrowd them.
  • Flip and cook till bubbles subsides.
  • Drain the murukku and repeat the same for rest of the dough.
  • Butter murukku is ready. Once it cools down store in air tight container

Notes

I used normal water and added little by little to form dough.
If you are using store bought rice flour, roast them for few minutes.
