Soak the raw rice for 30 minutes.
Wash and take chana dal in a pressure cooker.
Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles. Once the pressure is released open the cooker.
Mash the dal roughly.
Take soaked rice in a mixer
Grind it and add grated coconut.
Add little water and grind to a smooth paste
Take the ground rice coconut mixture in a pan and allow it to cook.
Keep stirring till it is completely cooked. The mixture will become thick
Add the cooked dal to it and mix
Then add the grated jaggery to it and mix till it is completely melted.
Add a pinch of salt, cardamom powder, and dry ginger powder to it.
Fry the cashews in ghee till golden.
Add the roasted cashews along with ghee to the payasam and mix.
Delicious chana dal payasam is ready.
