Chana dal Payasam Recipe | Kadala Paruppu Payasam | Chana dal Kheer recipe with step-by-step pictures and instructions. Chana dal payasam is a creamy and delicious kheer made with chana dal, coconut, jaggery, ghee, and nuts. It is one of the most commonly made kheer during festivals, occasions, and for guests.
There are a lot of variations of making chana dal payasam using coconut milk or milk. This is my mom's way of making where we grind coconut along with little rice and use it. I love to get bites of chana dal when drinking so will mash the dal roughly only. You can also add some fried pieces of coconut in ghee for extra crunch.
