Chinese Sesame Paste Recipe | How to make Chinese Sesame Paste

Chinese sesame paste is a simple condiment used as dips, fillings, salad dressing, or as a seasoning for noodles

Ingredients

  • White Sesame seeds ½ cup
  • Sesame oil 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt a pinch

Instructions

  • Dry roast sesame seeds in a pan.
  • Roast them till it turns slightly golden.
  • Remove to the plate and allow it to cool down.
  • Take the roasted sesame seeds in a mixer.
  • Pulse them 2-3 times and add a pinch of salt and oil to it.
  • Grind to smooth paste.
  • Chinese sesame paste is ready.

Notes

Traditionally they use unhulled sesame seeds. You can use any type of sesame seeds.
Add oil to adjust the consistency of the paste. I made it thick.
