Country Chicken Soup Recipe | Nattu Kozhi Soup Recipe

Country Chicken soup is a flavorful and soothing soup made with country chicken.

Ingredients

  • Country chicken 250 grams
  • Small onions 4-5 big ones
  • Tomato 1 small
  • Red chilli powder ¾ tsp
  • Coriander powder ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala ½ tsp
  • Cumin Powder ½ tsp
  • Pepper powder ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves 1 tbsp to garnish
  • Curry leaves few
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
  • Fennel seeds ¼ tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Water 2-3 cups

Instructions

  • Clean and wash the country chicken.
  • Heat oil and add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, and curry leaves.
  • Then add finely chopped onions and saute for a minute.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes.
  • Next, add tomatoes and saute till mushy.
  • Then add the country chicken and saute for few minutes.
  • Add salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin powder, and pepper powder.
  • Add water and then close the lid.
  • Pressure cook it for 5-6 whistles.
  • Once it cools down open the cooker, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
  • Flavorful nattu kozhi soup is ready.

Notes

I used country chicken with bones as it tastes good for soup
Adjust the spices according to your taste.
You can use normal onions instead of small onions. but small onions make it tastier
Original country chicken takes more time to cook.
