Ingredients

  • Cumin Seeds/Jeera 100 grams

Instructions

  • Take cumin in kadai
  • Dry roast the cumin in medium or low flame
  • Keep stirring at regular intervals to avoid cumin gets burnt.
  • Roast till nice aroma comes. Entire kitchen will be filled with aroma.
  • Remove from stove and transfer to plate. Allow it to cool down
  • Transfer the contents to mixer.
  • Grind to fine powder.
  • Cool them and store in air tight container
  • Roasted Cumin Powder is ready

Notes

Take extra care while roasting as cumin gets burnt easily
If cumin is roasted for longer, it may give bitter taste in gravies
Cumin powder can be stored for many months.
