Ingredients

  • Urad dal 1 cup
  • Moong dal ¼ cup
  • Green chilli 1
  • Ginger 2 tsp finely chopped
  • Salt as required

Assembling

  • Vada 5
  • Curd ¼ cup or as required
  • Green chutney 2 tbsp or as required
  • Sweet chutney 2 tbsp or as required
  • Red Chilli powder ½ tsp
  • Salt ¼ tsp or as required
  • Sugar 2 pinch
  • Cumin Powder ¼ tsp
  • Chaat Masala ½ tsp
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions

  • Wash and soak urad dal and moong dal for 3-4 hours or overnight.
  • Drain the water and keep it ready
  • Take green chilli and ginger in mixer
  • Grind them coarsely and then add the urad dal and moong dal
  • Grind them to smooth batter and transfer to bowl.
  • Beat the batter for 5-7 minutes till soft and fluffy.
  • Wet your hands and scoop a spoon of batter in hot oil.
  • Flip and fry them till golden. Drain them in kitchen tissue.
  • Soak the vada in hot water for 15 minutes.
  • Take each vada and squeeze excess water and arrange in the plate.
  • Take curd in the bowl and add little salt and sugar and mix.
  • Add generous amount of curd on the top of vada.
  • Drizzle some green chutney
  • Then add the sweet chutney
  • Sprinkle some chaat masala, salt, chilli powder and roasted cumin powder on the top.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
  • Delicious Dahi Bhalle is ready.

Notes

Use fresh greek yogurt or hung curd for best results.
Adjust the chutney and spices according to your taste.
You can add boiled potatoes, chick peas, cucumber, carrot, pomegranate or any toppings
