Eggless Sugar Cookies Recipe | Easy Sugar Cookies | Christmas Cookies

Sugar cookies are made with flour, sugar and butter.

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour 1 cup
  • Corn flour 2 tbsp
  • Butter ⅓ cup or 80 grams
  • Powdered brown sugar ½ cup
  • Baking powder ⅛ tsp
  • Salt a pinch
  • Vanilla essence ½ tsp
  • Milk 1-2 tbsp optional

Icing

  • Powdered sugar ¼ cup
  • Water 1 tbsp
  • Food color as required

Instructions

  • Sieve wheat flour, corn flour, salt and baking powder once and keep it ready
  • Take softened butter and sugar in a bowl.
  • Mix butter and sugar to form creamy texture and add vanilla essence to it.
  • Add flour mixture and mix it together to form a dough. Add milk if required to bring it together.
  • Cling wrap the dough and keep in fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Dust the surface with little flour and roll the dough.
  • Roll the dough in uniform thickness and cut with cookie cutters.
  • Place them in baking tray lined with parchment paper
  • Preheat the oven at 175°C and bake in the same temperature for 12-15 minutes till it is done.
  • I baked another batch of plain round cookies.
  • Serve the cookies with hot cup of Tea/Coffee or decorate them as required once it cools down.
  • Take powdered sugar and mix it with water to form thick paste.
  • Add coloring of your choice and with the help of piping bags or hands spread them on cookies and top it with sprinkles.
  • Colorful eggless sugar cookies is ready

Notes

Baking time will differ depending on oven as well as thickness of cookies. So always keep an eye after 15 minutes
Cookies always looks soft while taking out and later becomes firm. Bake them little longer if you like it to be crispy.
Icing should be thick and you can decorate them as per your choice. I did very minimal decoration.
You can reduce the sugar to ⅓ cup if you apply icing as it will have sugar too.
