Green peas poriyal | Green peas stir fry | Pachai Patani poriyal

Green peas poriyal is a simple and delicious side dish made with green peas.

Ingredients

  • Green peas ½ cup
  • Onion 1 medium
  • Salt as required
  • Sambar powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp

To Temper

  • Oil 1.5 tsp
  • Mustard ¼ tsp
  • Urad dal ¼ tsp
  • Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves few

Instructions

  • Wash and pressure cook green peas for 2-3 whistles.
  • Heat oil and temper with mustard, urad dal, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • Once it browns add the finely chopped onions and sauté till transparent.
  • Then add salt, sambar powder, turmeric powder and give a quick stir.
  • Then add cooked peas and saute.
  • Sprinkle little water and cook till the raw smell of masalas is gone.
  • Delicious green peas poriyal is ready.

Notes

Adjust the spices according to your choice.
You can use frozen peas for this recipe
You can add some grated coconut in the end too.
