Hot and Sour Veg Soup Recipe | How to make Hot and Sour Vegetable Soup

Hot and sour Veg soup is one of the popular soup recipes from Indo-chinese cuisine.

Ingredients

  • Oil/butter 1 tbsp
  • Onion 1 small
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Cabbage ⅓ cup finely chopped
  • Carrot 3 tbsp finely chopped
  • Beans 3 finely chopped
  • Capsicum ¼ cup finely chopped
  • Corn flour 1 tbsp
  • Water 1-2 cups
  • Soya sauce 2 tsp
  • Green chilli sauce 1 tsp
  • Vinegar/lime juice 1 tsp
  • Pepper powder 1 tsp or as required
  • Salt as required

Instructions

  • Finely chop the cabbage, carrot, capsicum. beans and onions.
  • Mix corn flour with water and keep it ready.
  • Heat oil and add the finely chopped onions and ginger garlic paste.
  • Saute them in high flame for one minute and add the finely chopped vegetables.
  • Add salt and saute them for 3-4 minutes.
  • Then add water and allow it to boil.
  • Add the corn flour mix to mixture.
  • Then add soya sauce, green chilli sauce, vinegar and pepper powder. Taste and adjust the seasonings.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
  • Enjoy hot and sour veg soup

Notes

You can use any vegetables of your choice
Reduce the cornflour if you like to have soup thin.
Adjust the sauces according to your taste.
Sometimes when I don't have vinegar in stock will use lime juice as substitute
You can replace the ginger garlic paste with finely chopped garlic.
