Italian Sesame Seed Cookies Recipe | Biscotti Regina | Air Fryer Recipes

Italian sesame seed cookies or Biscotti Regina is a classic Italian cookie coated with sesame seeds

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour 1 cup
  • Sesame seeds ¼ cup
  • Baking powder ¼ tsp
  • Butter 60 grams
  • Sugar ¼ cup
  • Lemon zest ½ tsp grated
  • Honey 1 tbsp
  • Milk ¼ cup

Instructions

  • Dry roast the sesame seeds till it pops up and keeps them aside.
  • Take butter, sugar, and honey in a bowl.
  • Mix together to form a creamy texture
  • Then add wheat flour, baking powder, and lemon zest to it.
  • Bring it together to a soft dough.
  • Add a few drops of milk to bind the dough.
  • Take a small amount of dough and shape them as oval, square, or log.
  • Repeat the same for the rest of the dough.
  • Dip the shaped cookies in milk.
  • Roll them in roasted sesame seeds.
  • Preheat the air fryer at 160°C for three minutes
  • Place the cookies in the air fryer basket and bake at the same temperature for 12-15 minutes till it is done.
  • Allow it to cool down and store in an airtight container.
  • Serve the cookies with a hot cup of Tea/Coffee

Notes

Baking time depends on the size and thickness of the cookies.
Always keep an eye out after 10 minutes.
Cookies will look soft when taken out of the oven but will become firm after 5-10 minutes.
You can use egg for binding instead of milk when coating with sesame seeds.
if you are using an oven bake at 180°C for 15-20 minutes.
