Ingredients
Rice flour ½ cup
Water 1.cup approx
Salt ¼ tsp
Coconut 2 tbsp
To temper
Oil 2 tsp
Mustard ¼ tsp
Urad dal ¼ tsp
Chana dal 1 tbsp
Red chilli 2 broken
Hing ¼ tsp
Curry leaves few
Instructions
Boil water in a vessel.
Take rice flour and salt in a bowl.
Add coconut to it.
Mix it till coconut is combined with flour.
Heat oil and temper with mustard, urad dal, red chilli, chana dal, hing and curry leaves.
Once it browns add it to the flour.
Now add boiled water little by little and form a dough.
Shape the dough by pressing with your hands or in cylindrical shape.
Boil water in steamer or idli pan and steam the pidi kozhukattai.
Cook for 10-15 minutes till it is soft.
Kara kozhukattai is ready.
Notes
Add generous amount of coconut for more taste.
Add onions while tempering and add to dough
