Knol khol Poriyal | Kohlrabi Stir fry

Knol khol poriyal is simple south Indian style poriyal made with kohlrabi.

Ingredients

  • Kohlrabi 300 grams
  • Onion 1
  • Grated coconut 3-4 tbsp
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Mustard ½ tsp
  • Urad dal ½ tsp
  • Red chilli 2-3
  • Salt as required
  • Curry leaves few

Instructions

  • Peel the skin, wash and chop the kohlrabi.
  • Heat oil and temper with mustard, urad dal, red chilli and curry leaves.
  • Once it splutters, add the finely chopped onions and saute for 1 minute.
  • Then add chopped kohlrabi and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  • Then add salt and sprinkle water.
  • Close and allow it to cook.
  • Once it is cooked and water is fully absorbed, open the lid and add grated coconut.
  • Mix together and knol khol poriyal is ready.
  • Serve it with rice or roti.

Notes

You can use green chilli for spiciness instead of red chilli
