Kovakkai Curry Recipe | Kovakkai Poriyal
Kovakkai curry is a simple and quick South Indian-style side dish made with ivy gourd.

Ingredients
Kovakkai 300 grams
Oil 1 tbsp
Mustard ½ tsp
Urad dal ½ tsp
Salt as required
Sundal Podi 1.5-2 tbsp
Curry leaves few.
Instructions
Wash and cut the tindora lengthwise
Heat oil and temper with mustard, curry leaves, and urad dal.
Once it browns add the sliced kovakkai.
Add salt to it and saute for 2-3 minutes.
Then sprinkle water, close the lid and allow it to cook.
Once it is cooked, add the sundal masala powder
Give a quick stir and saute for few minutes and switch off the flame
Kovakkai curry is ready.
Notes
You can cut them lengthwise or round.
Sundal podi will make this curry more flavorful
