Madurai Kari Dosa | Chicken Kari Dosa

Kari Dosa is very famous street food in Madurai which is usually made with mutton

Ingredients

Chicken Sukka/Keema

  • Chicken 150 gms
  • Green chillies 2 finely chopped
  • Onions 1 finely chopped
  • Tomato 1 finely chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Red chilli 1 tsp
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala ½ tsp
  • Pepper ¼ tsp
  • Cumin powder ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

Preparing Dosa

  • Dosa Batter 1 ½ cup
  • Eggs 2
  • Onions ½ cup finely chopped
  • Green chillies 1 finely chopped
  • Salt as required
  • Pepper Powder ½ tsp

Instructions

Chicken Sukka/Keema

  • Finely chop the chicken. you can use chicken keema also. Finely chop the onions, tomatoes, green chillies ans keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a kadai and add the finely chopped onions and green chillies. Saute nicely for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes.
  • Then add tomatoes and saute till it is mushy.
  • Then add the chicken and mix nicely.
  • Now add salt and all spice powders except pepper powder and add little water and mix nicely.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, add the pepper powder.
  • Mix nicely and garnish with Coriander leaves
  • Chicken masala is ready.

Preparing Dosa

  • Crack one egg and add pepper and salt.
  • To this mixture add finely chopped onions and green chillies.
  • Mix half of chicken mixture to this and make it ready.

Method 1

  • Heat kadai and spread the dosa batter like uttapam.
  • Spread the egg and chicken mixture to the dosa and drizzle some oil.
  • Cook in medium flame for one minute and flip the dosa
  • Press the dosa with laddle and cook for 30 secs and remove the dosa.
  • Serve hot Kari Dosa.

Method 2

  • To the egg chicken mixture mix the dosa batter.
  • Heat kadai and spread the dosa batter like uttapam and drizzle some oil.
  • Cook in medium flame for one minute and flip the dosa.
  • Press the dosa with laddle and cook for 30 secs and remove the dosa.
  • Serve hot Kari Dosa.

Notes

You can use mutton to prepare this dosa. In that case, pressure cook the mutton for 3-4 whistles.
You can use leftover chicken sukka or gravy for this prepartion also.
When you have the chicken ready, this can be prepared in less than 15 minutes.
