Wash the moong dal and take in pressure cooker
Add water, turmeric powder, hing to it and pressure cook for 1 whistle in medium and 5 minutes in slow flame.
Once the pressure releases open and mash the dal.
Heat oil in the pan and temper with keerai vadagam
Then add finely chopped onions and saute nicely.
Then add chopped tomatoes and saute till mushy.
Finally add the chopped keerai and saute till it shrinks little.
Then add salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder.
Add little water and allow it to cook.
Once it is cooked add the dal and mix
Bring it to boil and switch off the flame.
Manathakkali keerai kootu is ready.
