Marshmallow Fondant Recipe

Ingredients

  • Marshmallow 150 grams
  • Water 2 tbsp
  • Icing sugar 3 to 3 ½ cup
  • Oil as required for greasing

Instructions

  • Take marshmallows in oven safe bowl
  • Add 2 tbsp of water and microwave for 30 seconds. Take out the bowl, mix and microwave for another 30 seconds till it is melted.
  • Add the icing sugar 1 cup at a time and mix with a spatula.
  • Keep adding till everything is binding together nicely.
  • Transfer to mixture to table and keep kneading the dough till it is smooth and shiny. Grease your hands with oil while kneading
  • I used around 3 cups and later added some more while kneading.
  • Store the fondant in zip lock cover when not using immediately and refrigerate.
  • Add color to the fondant and knead to create colorful shapes.
  • Use it to cover cakes, cup cakes or cookies.

Notes

Dust the surface with powdered sugar to avoid fondant sticking to the surface.
Amount of sugar depends on marshmallows used. You can keep adding the sugar till fondant is smooth and shiny and not sticky.
