Marshmallow Fondant Recipe
Marshmallow Fondant Recipe with step by step pictures and instructions. Marshmallow fondant recipe is simple fondant which requires only two ingredients marshmallows and icing sugar. Fondant is nothing but sugar paste. Though I don’t like fondant by taste because it is too much sweet, I always admire cakes decorated with different shapes and colors using fondant. So I wanted to try my hand at making fondant. When I was browsing came to know that traditional way of preparing fondant uses ingredients like glycerin, gelatin, corn syrup and all. Long list of many uncommon ingredients made me to stay away from that.
Marshmallow fondant is simple and easy to make with few ingredients. So tried making this fondant and decorated my red velvet cake. I used the leftover to decorate cup cakes and tried making some flowers. You can refrigerate the fondant in zip lock cover and it keeps good for long time. I used the fondant after one month. I hope it keeps well for few more months too. It requires lot of kneading work to make fondant. We need to knead the dough till it is smooth and shiny.
Allow the fondant to come to room temperature when taking out from fridge and knead for few minutes to make it smooth. When fondant is left out for long time it may dry out. You can grease your hand with oil and knead for few minutes to make it smooth again. Always dust the surface with powdered sugar when working to avoid fondant sticking to the surface. Fondant may crack when you roll it too thin. I used water to stick fondant shapes to the cake and it worked good.
