Ingredients
Idli Rice 1 kg
Urad dal 100 grams
Roasted gram dal/Pottukadalai 100 grams
Instructions
Take urad dal in a pan.
Dry roast them till golden and aromatic.
Measure and take roasted gram dal.
Combine idli rice, urad dal and pottukadai together.
Grind the maavu in mill.
Allow it to cool down and store in air tight container.
Homemade Murukku flour is ready.
Notes
Use good quality idli rice since we are using as such without soaking. You can wash the rice and completely dry in sun if there is any dust in the rice. This keeps well for six months. You can grind a big batch and make murukku as and when required.
