Nellikai Rasam is variation of south Indian Rasam made with Nellikai/Gooseberry/Amla.

Ingredients
Amla/Nellikai 3
Tomato 2
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Salt as required
Rasam Powder 2 tsp
Ghee 2 tsp
Mustard ½ tsp
Urad dal ½ tsp
Red chilli 2
Hing ¼ tsp
Curry leaves few
Coriander leaves handful finely chopped
Water as required
Instructions
Take three gooseberry and wash them.
Silt the edges and remove the center seed.
Take amla and tomato in mixer.
Grind to fine paste.
Heat ghee and temper with mustard, urad dal, red chilli, curry leaves and hing.
Once it browns add the tomato amla paste to it.
Add water to adjust the consistency.
Then add turmeric powder, salt and rasam powder.
Allow it to boil nicely till foam forms.
Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the flame
Healthy nellikai rasam is ready. Enjoy with hot rice or have as soup.
Notes
Tempering with ghee always gives nice flavor to rasam. You can replace with oil tooI used my homemade rasam powder. If you don't have you can add 1 tsp cumin and 1tsp pepper while grinding and use it. It can be enjoyed as soup or with hot rice.
