Paal Pongal Recipe | Vellai Pongal in Pot | Milk Pongal Recipe
Vellai Pongal is simple pongal made with only rice and milk is added to make it creamy.

Ingredients
Raw Rice 1 cup
Water 7-8 cups
Milk 1 cup
salt as required
Instructions
Preparing Pot
Tie Manjal kothu(fresh turmeric with leaves) on the pot.
Then keep pathai with Vibhuti and keep kungumam on all sides of the pot.
Preparing Pongal
Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes
Heat water in the prepared clay pot
Once it boils, take 2 cups of water in a vessel which we can use later if required to adjust consistency.
Now add rice to it
Allow it to cook in medium flame.
Keep stirring occasionally and cook till rice is half cooked.
Add milk and salt to it.
Allow it to cook till rice is soft, mushy and creamy.
Delicious and creamy vellai pongal is ready.
Serve it with Pongal Sambar
Notes
You can add more milk and reduce the water.
Add some chopped coconut pieces for extra crunch.
