Peanut Sundal Recipe | Verkadalai Sundal | Groundnut Sundal Recipe

Peanut sundal is quick and easy snack recipe made using boiled peanuts.

Ingredients

  • Groundnuts 300 grams or dry 1 cup
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Mustard ½ tsp
  • Urad dal ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves few
  • Hing 2-3 pinch
  • Green chilli 1
  • Red chilli 2
  • Salt as required
  • Grated coconut 2 tbsp

Instructions

  • Soak the fresh groundnuts in water for 30 minutes and wash them to remove all dirt.
  • Then take them in cooker along with water and pressure cook them for 3-4 whistles.
  • Drain the water, remove the shells and separate the peanuts.
  • Heat oil and temper with mustard, urad dal, hing and curry leaves.
  • Then add finely chopped green chilli and broken red chilli.
  • Then add boiled peanuts and salt and give a quick stir.
  • Finally add the grated coconut.
  • Mix and switch off the flame
  • Peanut sundal is ready.

Notes

When using dry peanuts soak them for 4 hours or overnight.
Add some grated carrot or mango for variations.
