Pottukadalai Ladoo Recipe | Maa Ladoo | Roasted Gram flour ladoo

Pottukadai ladoo is simple and easy ladoo made with roasted gram dal, sugar and ghee.

Ingredients

  • Roasted gram dal/pottukadalai 1 cup
  • Sugar ¾ cup
  • Ghee 3 tbsp
  • Cashews 8-10
  • Cardamom powder 1 tsp

Instructions

  • Take roasted gram dal and sugar in mixer.
  • Grind to fine powder.
  • Transfer to big bowl and add cardamom powder to it.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and add cashews to it.
  • Fry them till golden and add to gram dal and sugar mixture.
  • Mix it nicely so it holds shape.
  • Shape them as small round balls. You can add more ghee if you are not able to shape them.
  • Maa Ladoo is ready.

Notes

If you want very fine ladoo, you can powder the roasted gram dal and sugar separately and sieve them.
I used mix of both brown and white sugar and used total of ¾ cup
If you are using only white sugar can reduce 1-2 tbsp. It totally depends on your preference of sweetness.
Use more ghee if you are not able to shape them.
Adding nuts is optional.
You can grind 2-3 pods of cardamom while grinding if you don't have cardamom powder.
