Raw Banana Fry Recipe | Vazhakkai fry recipe

Raw banana fry is simple and quick stir fry made with raw banana seasoned with spices.

Ingredients

  • Raw Banana/Vazhakkai 2 medium size
  • Salt as required
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric pwoder ½ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp optional
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Mustard ½ tsp
  • Urad dal ½ tsp
  • Hing ¼ tsp
  • Garlic 3-4 optional

Instructions

  • Peel the skin and cut raw banana as round slices of medium thickness.
  • Boil them adding little salt for 2-3 minutes.
  • Drain the water and keep it aside.
  • Now add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste to raw banana.
  • Mix nicely till it is coated with vazhakkai.
  • Heat oil and temper with mustard, urad dal and hing. Once it slightly browns add the crushed garlic.
  • Then add the coated raw banana to it.
  • Keep stirring at regular intervals and cook the till golden. Add more oil if required.
  • Raw Banana Fry is ready. Enjoy with hot rice.

Notes

Adjust the spices according to your taste.
Skip the garlic if you don't use them when fasting.
Keep stirring at regular intervals so it is evenly roasted
It can be made in tawa instead of pan too
